The Fabricant Hans Lorenz Renck donated his park for the town's founding in the year 1870 of the town Neumünster.

The cloth manufacturer family Renck had amassed impressive wealth since the 17th century and donated several legates for the support of the town's needy citizens.

After the last heir waived the usage of the park, the wrought-iron gates were opened on the 12th of March 1921. Now citizens were able to relax in quiet solitude from the busy city life!
