Schleswig Cold Bloods and Shetland-Pony Breeding

The community Travenhorst with around 190 inhabitants and a size of 850ha comprises of the villages Kamp, Petersruh, Travenhorst and Steenkrütz.

The villages Travenhorst and Kamp offer leisure options for horseback riding and coach rides. In winter one can enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides. The horse breeding of the Schleswig cold bloods at the estate  Kamp and the Shetland-Pony breeding at the estate Travenort enjoy national attention and recognition.

The community situated near lovely woods and lakes, offers farm holidays in quiet location with many hiking and bicycle routes.

A new fire brigade equipment house was built in the year 1993. In 1998 the rebuilding of the community centre was completed. This building is the central place of community life.
