Interesting collections look back into the centuries

The Karl-Rautenberg-Museum in Ellerau wants to conserve and depict the rural life in all its many small and sympathetic forms of expressions. There are completely furnished housing and living spaces from the time around 1900, farm working equipment, folksy household and working implements as well as tools of the shoemaker, tailor, forge and carpentry workshop as well as masonry and butchery. A school classroom with benches, teacher's desk, slate and other writing blackboards brings back memories of bygone school days. Old class photos, writing and teaching books illustrate quite impressive the great change in education especially to younger visitors.
